Eleri muttered something to herself as she caught site of the Grocery Store. It fitted into the town and matched it perfectly. But there was one problem. She hated the town. It was definitely the worst place she had ever had to live and she just hoped that she wouldn't be stuck there. She knew her hopes were futile though as all her dad had done since they had turned on was rave about how nice the place was. Personally, she couldn't see it. The less she saw of it the better so when her father had told her to go down to the groceries she had groaned and grumbled in response. In her mind she was screaming out vulgar responses that kept running of the topic but as always she managed to keep her mouth shut. After all, she had her illusion to keep up. It was great to see her father think she was a perfect child and a modal student. But the only reason she acted like that in front of him, or any other parent for that matter was to make sure she could get away with anything in the future. Who would suspect the golden child?
She took a deep breath and forced her legs to carry her into the store. Her eyes flashed around, taking everything in. It didn't look to bad she decided. She glanced at the shopping list her father had given her and pulled a face. Top of the list was aubergines, disgusting green things. Next was cucumber. She supposed that was a little better, but still not high in her list of foods she liked to eat.
Remembering that her father had given her quiet a bit of money for this food shopping trip she smiled. Maybe she could get a few things for herself, things that were possible to eat.
Strolling over to the vegetable section she began to get what was on the list. Her eyes scanned down it and once more she pulled a face. To get everything in order she would have to zig zag around the shop for ages. It was definitely not thought out well. Rolling her eyes she picked out all the other vegetables on the list and stuck them in the shopping basket. Knowing that it was not possible for everything to fit in the basket she glanced up to try and find some trollies. There was not any in site but that didn't mean there was any.
Like a little child she actually liked trollies. Though they were more fun when you had company. Where she used to live her and her friends often had trolly races down the isles. Once it had got them thrown out of the store but it had been worth it. Of course everyone had presumed the others had pressured her into it. When you were on your own trollies sort of lost their appeal. All you could do with them was run down an aisle and jump onto the back of them while they were moving.
She sighed as she thought about her friends back in New Zealand and Miami. They would no doubt hate this place as well. It was probably about time she got into contact with them but she had lost her old phone and they hardly ever went onto MSN. They had a life. Once upon a time she had too. Until she had moved to Arden Falls that was. She had only recently arrived but already she felt it sapping the life from her. She had to get out of there.
Finishing up in the vegetable section she stared down at the list wondering where the cereal was kept. She began to move as her eyes drifted over the list not really looking at it. She was too busy thinking about her hatred of Arden Falls. Not paying attention she didn't realize that there was another person nearby until she walked into something that unlike air, refused to let her through. She blinked, shocked and looked up to see who she had walked into.
