Aaron yawned and stretched stifling in his bed. He had a day off; so he slept in until nine o’clock. That was about as long as he could sleep in for - just because he was so used to getting up at six o’clock in the morning for work. Anyways, he slowly rose from bed and stumbled into his bathroom that was just down the hallway from his master bed. Turning on the water; he took off his boxers and tested the water before jumping right on in. When he was finished, he dried himself off with a towel and then wrapped it around his waist. Walking downstairs into his kitchen, he rummaged around and finally he realized that he didn’t have anything to eat at all. He knew that it was getting rather low; but he hadn’t thought that it had gotten as low as it had - completely empty. He widened his eyes and ran a hand over his freshly shaven head. At least he had some coffee left; although he would have to go shopping since he barely had enough to make his traditional two cups for the morning. He put the coffee on anyways and walked upstairs to get dressed.
He emerged about ten minutes later with a clean pair of boxers on, a pair of light blue jeans, and a black t-shirt that fit him just right; showing off some of his muscles but not being too tight. He had sprayed some cologne on and slipped his clean feet into some white socks. He had even put on his silver chain that he always used to wear around his neck but had stopped recently, just because he’d been so busy. He was now inside the kitchen; pouring some coffee into one of his favourite mug. He added two scoops of sugar and walked into his living room; turning on the flat screen TV. He skimmed through some of the channels; and then paused on some car show were they make the car all souped up and stuff. He used to watch this show all the time; back when he was a teenager. Ever since he got a job he had to be forced to grow up, basically. That didn’t mean that he didn’t want to have a good time; it just meant that he couldn’t act as stupid as a teenager.
He got up about ten minutes later and poured himself the last cup of coffee; adding his two spoonfuls of sugar and going back into the living room to finish off watching that show. It was around eleven o’clock when the show was finished and his coffee was too. Shutting off the TV, he rose, and rinsed out his cup in the sink before sticking it on the counter. His dishwasher probably needed to be emptied but he had to go grocery shopping right now. Yay. He rolled his eyes and sighed, leaning against his counter top and looking out the window. It seemed like a fairly nice day; although dark clouds loomed on the horizon. He squinted his eyes and caught a flash of lightning. Oh well, he needed to eat something today. But he couldn’t wait long; because he’d need to eat breakfast. Grabbing his wallet and truck keys, he walked out his home and locked the front door behind him. Walking down the front steps; he made his way to where his truck was parked. Getting into it, he turned the key into the ignition and headed towards the grocery store; some place where he rarely went to.
Pulling into the parking lot; he cut the roaring engine and unbuckled. Opening his door; he grabbed his keys and after getting out and shutting his door, he locked up his truck. Making his way up to the front entrance, he let his eyes skim the parking lot - totally out of habit. He often did that when he was crossing a parking lot. Mostly for his own safety; but he was also a curious kind of guy. Always watching other people; whether he showed it much or not. Walking through the automatic sliding doors he glanced around before grabbing himself a cart. He started off in the nearest section; the fruits and vegetables. He grabbed a little bit of this and a little bit of that; there wasn’t any problem with money for him - he just didn’t want to be doing this. He glanced around; his eyes glazed over with boredum. He sighed and paused to check his phone. Lately Akio had been texting him a lot; which made him laugh. He felt like her older brother; something that he’d always wanted to be.

19-year-old Kadie Taylor found a lot of excuses to get out of her house. Running errands for her mom was something that got her out of her house, and didn't inspire questions, except for when she was late, which she usually was. She just didn't get along with her parents much. They saw her as a wild child, and didn't appreciate that she couldn't enjoy religion or any of the things they wanted her to enjoy.
She should just move out. But that would be spending what little money she did have. Money she wanted to save to get out of this town. There weren't many opportunities in this town at all. That was why Kadie wanted to leave. Of course, the town wasn't all bad. There were her friends. She had a plan though. And the plan was to get out of this town. After that, she really didn't know what. She knew that she wanted to become a journalist, but after that, she wasn't sure. Wasn't sure what college she could get into or any of that. This town's high-school didn't exactly look good on college applications.
Grocery Store, right. That was where she needed to go. She needed to get groceries for her mom. Today, Kadie was wearing a simple pair of faded blue jeans, with a pink tank top. But on her, the simple even looked good. She grabbed a cart, and looked up to see Aaron. A smile crossed her features. She couldn't help it. Aaron just made her smile. He was one of her best friends in this town. This town that she hated. He was definitely a bright spot in all of this. She wandered over to him and kissed his cheek gently.
"Hey you," she said cheerfully.
Kadie was just like that with her guy friends, and with Aaron even more since he was probably her closest guy friend. Of course there was the fact that she thought that he was really sexy, but come on; what girl could look at him and not think that? Her relationship with Aaron was pretty much the one thing she could count on. She knew that it wasn't going anywhere. She screwed up relationships, but friendships were safe with her guy friends.
"What are you up to?" she asked, looking up at him with a smile. She hoped that she didn't appear too tired after her night at the club. That was one thing she never talked to Aaron about. Her partying habits or her one-night stands. She wasn't so sure that he'd approve. But then, he'd be there for her anyway. It wasn't like she slept around a whole lot, but she did. That part of her life, she just didn't talk about. Maybe it wasn't healthy for her to do this, but then, she just couldn't seem to commit. She wasn't the Snow Queen for no reason. She guarded her heart fiercely;
In all other things, she took chances. She was in fact, far too reckless for her own good. Tell her to jump out of an airplane, she'd do it. But tell her to fall in love, and she ran. She was far too scared when it came to matters of the heart. Probably not too healthy either, but she just didn't care. But, she liked the relationship with Aaron. He was there, and since she'd known him for so long, she was sure that she didn't have to worry about falling in love with him. She did love him, but it was in a different way. She didn't have to worry about running from him, or about any strings or anything. He was just there, and it was nice. It was just like that with a lot of her guy friends. And she really appreciated it.
She realized though that she had not seen Aaron in awhile. She'd been busy lately, job hunting, and clubbing. She felt a little guilty about that. But, she knew that she would change it. Aaron was one of those guys that she would easily fit into her schedule.

Aaron turned in time to see Kadie Taylor standing there, smiling at him. He smiled and waited for her signature kiss on the cheek. Afterwards she spoke to him. Hey you. She sounded cheerful; today was a good day for her. He smiled, she was probably running errands for her mom to get out of the house. Aaron loved being able to do whatever he wanted when he wanted because he owned his own house. But there was the lonely factor that he hated. Was he really that ugly and horrible to still be single? Must be. He realized that he hadn’t said anything in response to Kadie, so he put on another smile and opened his mouth to speak. Hey, how’s it going? Something he always said whenever he greeted a friend. He turned to look at all the different types of apples, grabbing a few red ones and a few green ones - he didn’t really care on the colour. Maybe that was why he had a strange assortment of things in his cart. Oh well, chances are he’d eat everything, he loved his food.
He turned at her next words, always the type of guy to listen when someone was talking to him. Actually, he was a rather good listener for a guy. What are you up to? Aaron looked at her for a moment, did he see a hint of dark rings around her eyes? Maybe, but the just figured that she’d been up late arguing with her parents. Oh - just trying to stay alive. He paused. You know how much I hate shopping. Especially grocery shopping. He rolled his eyes, it really did bother him that much. He smiled in her direction, wanting her to know that he wasn’t that angry. But that’s enough about me. How about you - what are you up to? Running errands again for the parents? His tone was gentle as he spoke to her, it always was. He cared about his friends, especially the female ones.
When he finished talking he looked around him, wondering if he needed to get anything else in this particular section. He realized that the bananas were just down the aisle and he would need some. He pushed his cart down, and started to look for some that were good enough to eat. He took his time; really he was in no rush. He had nothing else to do for the day. Finally he picked a good bundle of them and put them into his cart. He remembered going to the local grocery store with his mother back when he lived in North Carolina. How she had been just beaten and had to cover herself up from head to toe so people wouldn’t see anything. He still remembered her wearing those dark sunglasses, those large sunglasses covered up most of her face.
Getting lost in memories he didn’t hear some girl telling him ‘excuse me.’ He jumped as she tapped on his shoulder and he moved his cart out of the way as soon as his brain registered what she wanted him to do. Sorry. He mumbled, looking slightly frustrated with himself. Looking over at Kadie he smiled a small smile. Guess a grocery store isn’t the best place to day dream. Although it is better than day dreaming on the road. He said, chuckling at his own comment. He looked at her once more and then looked away; wondering if he needed to get anything else. He had some carrots and some dip, some apples and bananas. He also had some celery, sometimes if he had the time he would make himself a large bowl of Cesar salad. That was his favourite type of salad, the only one that he could make easily. Almost with his eyes closed.

"Oh good, I suppose," she said in response to his question of how she was. She started grabbing apples and such too, wrinkling her nose in distaste. She wasn't a big fan of fruit and vegetables. It was crazy, when she'd been pregnant, she'd craved apples like crazy. But that was really the only time she'd ever wanted apples in her life. It was crazy how nobody around here knew that she had once been pregnant. Not even Aaron. But then, that was all apart of her past that she'd really just like to forget. She grinned at his response.
"Well, if you hate grocery shopping so much, you should call me next time. It's always much more fun to shop with someone else. Lucky I came by, huh?" she asked with a wink.
"Yup, running errands for the parents. That way, it makes them in a slightly better mood with me so I can go out tonight without their questions," she responded with a slight smile. She was 19, but her parents didn't treat her like an adult. They still liked to try to cage her in. Yeah, she should really just move out to escape that. But finding a job would be more ideal then moving out first.
Kadie continued to shop, noting that Aaron looked lost in thought over something, but she said nothing about it. Just getting the stuff on her mother's list, most of which, Kadie didn't like. Healthy foods. It was amazing that Kadie had the figure she had, because of the foods she liked. She smiled as Aaron had to move out of the way of some girl. She laughed at Aaron's comments.
"Yeah, you better not daydream on the road," she said with a grin as she playfully nudged him. She looked at the things in his cart, and wrinkled her nose.
"You okay there?" she added, in reference to his being lost in thought in the grocery store.
"If you ever throw a party, remind me to bring the good stuff to eat. Otherwise, we'll all starve," she said teasingly. She supposed that the carrots and the dip were good, but other then that, it all looked like rabbit food to her.

Oh good I suppose. He nodded, wondering if she was okay. But then again, he was always worried about his friends. Like Akio Summers. That poor girl, with the fucked up mother. Aaron got angry just at the thought of her mother. But at least he was able to rescue Akio for periods of time, whether short or small. Bringing himself back down to the present, he caught Kadie’s smile and returned one of his own, and continued to browse through the section they were in. he wished that he could get someone to do his grocery shopping for him, and not feel bad about paying them to do it. But here he was, being the responsible guy and doing it himself. When he got home he’d have to unload it all and then unload the dishwasher and probably put on a load of laundry. He was running low on clean clothes. He sighed, he felt like a girl having to do all of this stupid shit. He wished that there was someone special in his life to share the chores with. Well, not only for doing chores. But for company. It was lonely living by yourself.
Well, if you hate grocery shopping so much, you should call me next time. It’s always much more fun to shop with someone else. Lucky I came by, huh? Kadie seemed to be in a good mood. And maybe a little full of herself. Aaron had heard her talk like this before, but it wasn’t something that happened all the time. He smiled, nonetheless. Yeah, except you’ll probably kick my ass. I take forever in here - which only makes it worse. Maybe one of these days I’ll sit down and write a list before I get in here, because I always remember what I want to get until I’m back home. And there’s no way I’m coming back here for a second trip. The first is bad enough! Sure, he was complaining but it was okay. Kadie was used to having things like this told to her - anyways, he was hoping that she’d offer to help him out. He looked around the store, it was large. He still had the grain section, the meat section and then lastly the dairy and frozen section. He groaned out loud, scaring some old lady who’d been walking up behind him. He turned and smiled, Sorry ma’am. He said, stepping out of her way to let her by.
Yup, running errands for the parents. That way, it makes them in a slightly better mood with me so I can go out tonight without their questions. Aaron nodded, it made sense. He’d never had to do that growing up, just because his parents never gave a fuck. Well, his father didn’t. His mother would be beaten if she did. Sounds like you need to move out soon, huh? He said, joking around with her. He was usually joking around… sometimes he’d get serious. But you’d be able to tell when he’s joking and when he’s serious. Looking down at Kadie, he wondered what she planned on doing tonight. Instead of just trying to figure out on his own, why not ask her? So what do you have planned for tonight? He wondered what she did during the night. He often didn’t really ask but today he wanted to keep their conversation going, and he had the time to ask her and talk to her more than their usual encounters.
Yeah, you better not daydream on the road. He felt her small, playful nudge and grinned at her. He was an excellent driver, he had a lot of experience with his truck and he knew like the back of his hand. He could probably drive with his eyes closed and not get into an accident. You okay there? He looked over at her, and caught her wrinkled nose and arched an eyebrow. Okay, he was lost now. Do you mean about me daydreaming? He paused, figuring he should just go on anyway. Just tired I suppose. That and I hate being in this stupid store. He grumbled under his breath, but he knew that she would hear him, she was standing awfully close. If you ever throw a party, remind me to bring the good stuff to eat. Otherwise, we’ll all starve. He was a little offended, he knew how to throw a party, and he was only getting what he needed in the section that he was in. Oh I know how to throw an excellent party. Pizza and booze, that’s what you need. He chuckled. When people got smashed, or even tipsy, they didn’t care what they were eating.

"Awh, I could never kick your ass. Other guys I have no problem doing so, but you? Nah," she said with a grin. She smiled at his rant about coming into the store.
"Men and shopping. It's funny how much they hate it. For women, it's like a destresser or something. As is chocolate. Chocolate good," she said with a grin. Wow, she was in a weird mood for some reason. She almost laughed as Aaron scared some lady.
"Here, I'll help you. What else do you need?" she asked. She never minded helping out friends, especially Aaron. Plus, this got her away from the house longer.
"Oh yeah, definitely need to move out soon. Going crazy in that house. But, getting a job first would be smarter then moving out first," she responded. As he asked what she had planned for that night, she wondered really what to say. But, it was Aaron. She was honest with Aaron. She may not have told Aaron about the shit from her past, but he knew her better then many people. Simply because she let him in farther, even if she still didn't let him in completely.
She'd told no one about any of what had happened to her in her past. She preferred to just forget about it. Not think about it. Even to her closest friends she was slightly closed off and mysterious. She definitely had that wall up, and even though her friends got in and see the real Kadie, she still didn't confide in them. She kept things to herself. She took care of herself. Sure, she had plenty of guy friends that were protective of her, but she just took care of herself and was very highly independent. Still though, it was kinda sad that she didn't let anyone in very far. Not even her best friends.
"I'll probably go to the club. What about you?" She listened to his response after she asked if he was okay. He was grumbling about being in the store again. But then, most guys that she knew couldn't stand any form of shopping, grocery shopping included.
"I know I was just teasing you. You do throw really good parties,"she assured him.
"Oooh, a party sounds fun. I should throw one soon, or somebody should," she announced. Yeah, she was kinda in a random mood, but it was all good.

Awh, I could never kick your ass. Other guys I have no problem doing so, but you? Nah. Aaron chuckled, she seemed to think that she could actually kick his ass. Oh well, he wasn’t ready to fight with her - nor would he ever be. He valued their friendship and wanted them to remain happy forever. Well that’s a relief then. Don’t have to get my extra padding on just yet I suppose. He said, pretending to breathe a sigh of relief. He was just pulling her leg, of course. He did that often enough, and had fun teasing her. She was used to it by now, and he was happy about that. When people took this too seriously he didn’t find it much fun to hang around them, nor was there much point because he was the kind of guy who joked around and had fun. He rarely got serious, unless he was working on his truck or he was at work. And even at work there would be moments when he’d crack a joke or some other guy would and everyone would laugh. He liked those kind of moments, it broke the silence that always fell upon them when they were sweating their nuts off.
Aaron came back down to the present when he heard Kadie’s voice. Men and shopping. It’s funny how much they hate it. For women, it’s like a destresser or something. As is chocolate. Chocolate good. Aaron smiled. Yeah, I suppose that makes sense. See - for me - working on a car or truck is a destresser. Shopping? Hell, that causes stress. And just frustrates the crap out of me. He paused. Chocolate is great, isn’t it? He said, his stomach rumbling loudly at the thought of it. He rubbed it absent mindedly with his left hand as he browsed through the current food selection before him. He didn’t quite know what he wanted, he just wanted food that would last him for a long time. Looking around he continued on to the grain section, Kadie right behind him grabbing what she needed. He grabbed a bag of bagels and a loaf of whole wheat bread. He looked some more and found some English muffins, and grabbed a bag of those. He didn’t like to get junk food much, having not grown on a whole lot of it. He grabbed one box of chocolate chip cookies and then pushed his cart on down to the meat section. This was his favourite part.
Here, I’ll help you. What else do you need? He smiled at how polite she was to him. He shook his head, Nah, don’t bother trying to help a lost cause. I’m working through it slowly. At least I have someone else to talk to, other than myself. He paused, not wanting to hurt her feelings or anything like that. I don’t really know what I want until I’m standing right in front of it. Spur of the moment, you know? Well - okay, you probably don’t shop like that, but that’s how I’ve always shopped. He shrugged again, and grabbed some steaks that looked good enough for him, putting them into a plastic baggy before putting them into the cart. Then he grabbed a box of hamburgers from a freezer nearby. He almost forgot the sausages! Oh how he loved his meat. He grabbed a box of sausages, maybe he’d cook them up tonight. He had a barbeque, even though he lived in an apartment. He kept it out on his little balcony, which was so small that you couldn’t really sit out there with someone else, but strangely enough, his barbeque fit perfectly. He wasn’t going to complain.
His thoughts were broken up when he heard Kadie’s voice again, and turned in her direction to listen to her words. Oh yeah, definitely need to move out soon. Going crazy in that house. But, getting a job first would be smarter then moving out first. Aaron nodded, it did make sense to get a job first. Yeah - that’s what I did. Straight out of high school, I got a mechanic job in my old town and then I just moved here and picked up where I’d left off. Soon after that, I was bumped up to head mechanic and now I make double what I used to. Money is everything nowadays, which is just pathetic and sad. He really didn’t know what was so wrong with their society that money was more important than having fun. Or being loved. He looked away, searching through the frozen meats, wondering if he wanted to get some chicken breasts or pass. He decided on getting a small box of them - he had meat with just about every meal, whether he cooked it the night before to just reheat in the microwave or he cooked it on the barbeque. Aaron didn’t know what to do when he had no meat in his freezer… and it wasn’t like he planned on coming back here for a little while. It just made sense to him to stock up. Sure, the people scanning all of his food would give him a weird look, and the bill would be fairly high for just one person but he didn’t care. If it meant that he would go shopping less, then he was all for it.
I’ll probably go to the club. What about you? Aaron nodded, that was one of the big highlights when you lived in this small, stupid little town. He shrugged to her question. Well, I’ll eat. He said, grinning as he paused. Then maybe jump into my truck and see where she leads me… maybe I’ll run into you later. He said, a smile on his face. He didn’t plan on running into her - but it was possible. There wasn’t many places that his truck could take him to. There was the club, or Starbucks or the shop ( which he definitely wouldn’t go to unless he had to pick something up or work a shift ). He glanced around them, and then pushed his cart into the dairy section. He scanned the milks, not wanting to pick the wrong one. I know I was just teasing you. You do throw really good parties. He chuckled, waving his hand through the air to show that he wasn’t hurt by her words. Oooh, a party sounds fun. I should throw one soon, or somebody should. Aaron smiled, Yeah - that’s be fun. Then continued on with his shopping. After he grabbed his milk he skimmed through the yogurt options, and then grabbed a packet that had multi flavours.

Kadie laughed as he teased her and slugged him playfully on the arm. She did pride herself on being tough though. She had that black belt to prove it. Not that she flaunted it. In fact, really none of her friends knew about the whole karate thing. Except Kevin. So she knew that she could probably hold her own against any guy, but she also knew that guys like Aaron and Kevin, guys who cared about her, would be there in flash if she needed them. She prided herself on the fact that she could take care of herself, but guy friends were always nice too.
Her guy friends made her laugh. Like when Aaron mentioned the extra padding, it reminded her of those inflatable big men costumes that you'd put on. It was bugging her because she couldn't remember what they were called, and she was laughing because the images in her head were funny.
"That reminds me of those inflatable men costumes, what are they called?" she asked, hoping that he'd know what she was talking about. But hey, she was laughing really hard, so she wasn't so sure that he'd be able to understand her either.
She smiled at Aaron's response to destressers and such. See, Kadie was quite the girly girl in some areas. She really loved to shop, really knew how to dress sexy in a way that would draw all the guys' attention in the club, etc. But she also liked to work on cars. Strange. She was like the only girl she knew who liked to do that. Maybe that was partly why she wasn't in a relationship. Cause she could do things for herself. Men liked women who didn't know how to work on cars. The sort of damsel in distress type deal, didn't they?
"Yeah, I know what you mean. Hell, I'm a spontaneous person all around, so that makes for a spontaneous shopper as well," she responded with a grin as she put some bagels and cream cheese in the cart. Her parents weren't fond of bagels, but they didn't have to find out about the bagels. His next words made a lot of sense. Too much sense.
"Yeah it is sad. But sometimes, people don't have much more to live for other then making money," she replied. Or if you were her, you were too scared to let anybody get too close to you. Money was just an object. It couldn't hurt you, and if you lost it, you most likely gained some back, etc. With people, it was a much more different story. But then, Kadie didn't want to become a journalist for the money. She just wanted to write. Write, get away from this town, etc. But still, people always told her that she was missing things from her equation, like a family. She was too scared to let herself want that.
"Well, that'd be cool to run into you later,"she replied with a grin. If Aaron actually showed up at the club, it would prevent her from ending up going home with some random guy. She after all, wasn't all too comfortable with having Aaron know that particular part of her life.
She continued on with her shopping, smiling as he agreed that a party would be fun.
"I'll have to throw one soon then. So what else have you been up to lately, besides work?"She asked.

Aaron liked being able to make Kadie laugh - she usually was quite the giggly one around him, although he knew that they were friends and that’s it… nothing more. And he didn’t want that anyways, he’d rather just remain friends. So he knew that when she was laughing, she actually meant it - some girls flittered with a guy by laughing at all of his jokes and sayings. That reminds me of those inflatable men costumes, what are they called? Aaron shook his head, his eyes twinkling as she laughed her butt off. He had no idea… but yet he knew exactly what she was talking about. Weird. I don’t know what they’re called, but I sure do know what you are talking about! He smiled, loving how she seemed very carefree around him sometimes. He knew the touchy subjects, he just didn’t understand why they were touchy. Like when she talked about going out at night, she would get a bit tense and clam up slightly. Why? He didn’t know - nor was he going to mention anything about noticing. She thought he didn’t and that was good enough for him.
He continued to shop, grabbing odd things that he would eat when he got desperate. Well, that was just about any time. Aaron wasn’t a picky eater and never had been. Put a plateful of steaming food and he’d eat it all up ( once it cooled down ). He used to out eat his uncle, instead of worrying about what his father ate he would just pay attention to his uncle who was kind. Bringing himself back down to the present, he turned to look at Kadie as she spoke to him. Yeah, I know what you mean. Hell, I’m a spontaneous person all around, so that makes for a spontaneous shopper as well. Aaron was surprised, she seemed to be a bit more calculating while she shopped than him, but then again there was the key factor that he just didn’t give a shit either. At least you understand where I’m coming from… that’s the main thing. He smiled over to her. She seemed to always know where he was coming from, which amazed him. Kadie seemed to be just a generally open and willing to understand person. I’m not saying that she is open about herself, because she clearly isn’t, but she seems to be open to many different types of people.
Yeah it is sad. But sometimes, people don’t have much to live for other than making money. Aaron nodded, he saw where she was coming from. Yeah, sadly money has gotten to important now. Society has turned us into… monsters. He said, chuckling slightly. He made sense to himself, but whether she would understand or not he had no idea. He figured that she would, she normally did. I gotta admit, money is important to me to, but then again I don’t live for it… He looked over at Kadie, a smile on his face. What he really needed to do was shut his mouth. He was talking way to much. He looked away, browsing the shelf right beside him. He grabbed some of the Ritz crackers that were randomly there, he liked to munch on those while he watched some music videos or a car show… or anything on the TV. He preferred munching on crackers rather than eating popcorn, like in a theatre. The popcorn made him almost bloated… he would feel so fat after eating it but he would if he was out on a date. There was no point acting like a girl when you were a guy. He rolled his eyes, he was lame.
Well, that’d be cool to run into you later. Aaron smiled and nodded. Yeah that would be pretty sweet. Different, but it would be fun. At least I wouldn’t have to worry about meeting new people. He liked it when he planned to meet someone in a club because than he didn’t have to sit around and wait for a new person to walk over. It took people a long time to come over and talk to him. Why? He had no clue, only that it annoyed the crap out of him. He didn’t think that he was unapproachable. I’ll have to throw one soon then. So what else have you been up to lately, besides work? He looked over, grinning at the ‘besides work’ comment. Yeah, if you needed to have it at my house you could. He was being serious - it would be fun to put on a party and have Kadie help him out. Yeah… work. He chuckled, she knew that he worked a lot. Well I’ve been… sleeping when I can. Drinking coffee to stay alive… and going out with some guys every so often so I don’t forget the taste of beer is like. He chuckled again, and then turned to her after looking at the shelf in front of him, having moved down the aisle. How about you? He asked, and then glanced away, browsing the shelf. He grabbed some boxes of mac and cheese - something that he ate often enough just because it was so simple to make and it wasn’t going to kill him like other junk food he ate.

Kadie always laughed like this with her friends. With the guys she wanted, she was a lot more subtle, a lot more mysterious. She hardly gave anything away about herself, because generally they were just one night stands. With her guy friends, she could be more herself. But even then, she didn't let them in very far. She acted all happy and care-free all the time, and really, that wasn't true at all. She grinned at him when he said that he knew what she was talking about. That was good, but then, she wasn't surprised. Her guy friends usually did get her, even if she was crazy.
At least you understand where I’m coming from… that’s the main thing. She smiled at that and nodded in agreement as she put some more things in her cart, probably things her parents wouldn't approve of. But, they never asked her to quit running their errands for them, so hey. Yeah, she was generally an open person. In high school she hadn't been so open, especially about guys. She'd been completely closed-off from the people around her. Now, she was more laid-back and willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. Well, except for when it came to love. She wasn't really willing to trust a guy with her heart. And she wasn't so willing to trust herself in handling some guy's heart. She'd been known to be somewhat of a heartbreaker. But hey, better to break their hearts before hers could get broken, right? Probably sounded a little selfish, but she was simply unwilling to go through any kind of shit like she'd gone through in the past. Kadie did understand his next comments, and nodded in agreement again.
"Yeah, I know what you mean. I don't really live for money either. But then again, having money would be nice," she replied. If only to get her out of here. After that, once she became a journalist, she really didn't care how much money she'd make, because she'd be doing what she loved. She'd be living her dream. Dreams that this simple little town just couldn't seem to offer her. Just couldn't seem to give her. Sure, there was news in this dinky little town, but not the kind of news Kadie was looking for. But then again, she'd been living here all her life so maybe she was taking for granted and overlooking a few things.
"That would be really fun," she replied with a nod at his suggestion for the party. She listened to his response about what he'd been up to with a grin. It was always interesting to hear his responses. At his question, she mostly gave a shrug.
"Not a whole lot actually. I've just been clubbing a lot, having a good time. I have way too much time on my hands actually,"she replied. People kept telling her that she shouldn't have dropped out of college. But the college here really didn't offer a whole lot. But then again, something was better then nothing, right? She had just gotten so frustrated with the whole thing.
"So hey, if there's ever any openings where you work, that'd be awesome,"she said, hoping that he'd take her seriously. She was a girl yes, but she was actually good with cars.

Aaron continued to skim the shelves around them, grabbing some odd things here and there. When he got home and started to unload them he would think what the fuck when he looked down at what he was unloading. But right now? He didn’t give a fuck - that was the thing. He hated being in this stupid store and the sooner he got out of here and unloaded his things, the sooner he would be able to go hang out with Kadie at the local nightclub. Yeah, I know what you mean. I don’t really live for money either. But then again, having money would be nice. Aaron chuckled - he had been very surprised when Kadie had told him that she was nineteen and lived at home. But then again - there was also the freedom she had in a sense that she didn’t have a job to go to. He knew that she would want to go out and get a job though, more independent and blah blah. Yeah - I mean it’s really nice to have a high paying job - but then again, putting in the hours can be really hard on your body. Enjoy being able to sleep at your own time while you can! He said, chuckling. He was being serious though - the way he had to sleep around his schedule just didn’t make sense to him - yet he didn’t want to loose his job so he kept his mouth shut. For once.
That would be really fun. Aaron nodded, thinking that he hadn’t been to many parties over the past few weeks or so. Why? He had no idea. He browsed the shelf right in front of him and grabbed a few random things - not bothering to check the nutritional facts or anything like that. Never had and never would. Sure, he got a little concerned about those things, but then he’d go to the gym and work out for a couple hours and bam - all previous worry was gone in a flash. Aaron didn’t know how girls could get all worked up about that - what they ate. If they were active enough, who really cared? He sure didn’t… but then again he had the mentality of a guy. Not a whole lot actually. I’ve just been clubbing a lot, having a good time. I have way too much time on my hands actually. Aaron chuckled - he would have been just like her if he hadn’t been able to hook himself up with a job. Hell, he still wanted to do things like clubbin’ - although he had matured slightly from his job ( not much though ). Boy, do I ever wish that I had the time to join you - now that would be a lot of fun. He said wistfully, wishing that he could have a nice cold beer in his hand right now. Oh in due time he would… like tonight.
As they neared the cash registers, Aaron turned, pausing in his walking to talk to Kadie again. So hey, if there’s ever any openings where you work, that’d be awesome. He studied her face for a moment, wondering if she was being serious or not. So she was actually interested in a job at his place. He smiled, hiding his shock perfectly. Okay - well I can definitely hook you up with something maybe… in a few days? I will call around… and we’ll get you in there as soon as we can. Do you want a desk job or a hands-on job? He smiled at her - working near her would be nice. They would be able to see each other more, he had actually missed her during the short period of time when she hadn’t been around. He knew that he would be able to pull a couple strings, considering just how high up in the rankings he was. But what kind of job would she want? A mechanic job or a secretary job? He looked over at her, wondering absent mindedly if she would rather a desk job or a hands on job. Good thing he’d asked her.

Kadie laughed at his response that she should sleep while she could.
"Actually, I'm looking very forward to being career-minded. I plan to put in a lot of hours as a journalist," she responded with a slight grin. And she wouldn't mind doing it either since journalism was her passion. But then again, being a journalist still wasn't as bad as being a doctor. She could never do that, ever.
She started putting random things in the cart too. Most of which her parents probably would not eat, but since when did she care about that? Boy, do I ever wish that I had the time to join you - now that would be a lot of fun. She smiled at that.
"Well, when you do get time. You can't be all work and no play. But then again, lately I've been all play and no work, which isn't good either," she said with a laugh. Okay - well I can definitely hook you up with something maybe… in a few days? I will call around… and we’ll get you in there as soon as we can. Do you want a desk job or a hands-on job?He asked as they neared the cash register.
"I would like hands-on if you need people. But I also type 90 wpm, so if that is more needed, I can do that too," she responded. It wasn't like she was bragging with the whole 90 wpm thing. She just typed that fast because she was a writer and had had a lot of practice typing at the computer. So she wouldn't mind either job. She liked desk jobs, but then again; that wasn't really the kind of journalist she wanted to be; she wanted to be in the thick of things, be in the action. That was where the best reporting came from.
ooc: Sorry it took me so long. My college classes are really getting to me, haha. Had a few exams to study for. And it's not a very good response either. Sorry xD.
